THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has said that he does not see the government as an enemy and that everyone has freedom of expression. "If everyone has the same opinion, how can democracy move forward? I respect the freedom of expression and the CPM and I have their own views", the governor said.
"Employees who have worked in the state for more than thirty years are told to pay their share into the pension. Even university employees are asked to contribute to their pension. But a privileged section here would get a pension if they worked for two years and then they could become full-time party workers again", the governor said. The governor reaffirmed his opinion that the government should not pay a political party cadre in such a way.
"This is my government. I am not an enemy to them. It is not wrong for the head of the family to tell the members what is wrong. I did not say anything against the Leader of the Opposition. I told him to maintain the respect towards Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy, ”the governor said. The Governor also clarified that Kerala is free to say anything in the recommendation of the Punchhi Commission report related to the transfer of the governor.
