THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A crucial finding in chopping off the genitals of a swami at Pettah in the capital city. Swami Gangeshananda, who came as a guest to the girl’s house in Kannamoola was attacked on February 20 in 2017. The girl first told the police that she cut off his genitals when he tried to sexually abuse her.
A rape case was registered against the swami. The girl testified before the magistrate against the swami. However, Swami Gangeshananda first said that he himself chopped off his genitals. He later changed that and said that someone attacked him when he was asleep.
The story changed when the girl approached the police saying that the swami did not try to sexually abuse her and that she did not try to kill him when the probe was progressing. The girl in her complaint said swami’s aide Ayyappadas attacked him.
When Gangeshananda moved the court demanding to quash the case, the girl’s statement was in favour of him. However, the case was handed over to the crime branch when the swami lodged a complaint with the DGP mentioning the role of top police officials in the case.
At the end of a year-long investigation, the crime branch concluded that swami was attacked by the girl itself. She made the plan jointly with her friend Ayyappadas. The two tried to avoid the swami after involving him in a case for opposing their relationship.
The crime branch in their scientific examination found that Gangeshananda had lied. On the day of the incident, the two conspired the attack while sitting on the beach in Kollam. Ayyappadas bought the knife for her. The girl, a law student, studied how to chop off the genitals after searching in google. Based on the new findings, the girl and aide Ayyappadas are likely to be arraigned in the case.
