NEW DELHI: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has condemned the murder of CPM activist Haridasan in Thalassery on Monday morning. Such incidents are unfortunate and innocent people are being killed. Such killings will destroy the confidence of the people. Culprits should be arrested immediately and such events should not be repeated. The governor clarified that he had not received any official information about the murder and said he would respond further after receiving the report.
Haridas' body was cremated at his residence in Punnoli, Thalassery. The funeral procession started at 5.30 pm after apublic viewing at the party offices and various centers. The funeral was attended by a large number of people including MLA A N Shamseeer and party workers. Police are on high alert in Thalassery following the murder. Meanwhile, seven people have been taken into custody in connection with the murder. This includes a BJP councilor. Haridas was killed around 1 a.m. on his way back from work.
