KOCHI: The High Court has asked why Dileep is obstructing further investigation in the actress assault case. HC asked this on Dileep's plea to cancel the re-investigation. In the petition, Dileep alleged that the re-investigation was part of a conspiracy to trap him.
Meanwhile, HC has permitted the actress to be impleaded as an additional respondent, in the plea moved by Dileep to quash any further investigation into the case . Even though Dileep's counsel argued against allowing the survivor to be part of the case, Justice Kauser Edappagath recorded their opposition but allowed it as he opined that she definitely has sufficient cause to be an interested party.
However, Dileep claims that the probe is a conspiracy to trap him. Dileep also alleged that the investigating officer was trying to create a statement by bringing in a new person to the case. However, the court said that whether Balachandra Kumar's statement was false or true was a matter for investigation. The police have the power to investigate about the revelations. HC asked why Dileep was obstructing re-investigation. The court also asked to enquire into why the complaint was filed late. Dileep's plea will be heard on Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Dileep's lawyer B Raman Pillai has replied to the crime branch notice alleging that he had influenced a witness in the case. The lawyer replied to Kottayam Crime Branch SP that Dileep had not contacted anyone to influence the witness and that the allegation of witness Jinson was false.
