THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan MLA raised the statements of former DGP R Sreelekha, the first director general of police who retired in December 2020, in the assembly. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while replying said Sreelekha had not informed her dissatisfaction to him. She said she suffered the insult but it is not clear when this happened. While replying to Thiruvanchoor, the chief minister said Sreelekha herself should say what had happened. Thiruvanchoor raised the things stated by Sreelekha in an interview to a private channel.
‘Sreelekha was in the police force when Thiruvanchoor was the home minister. She had not revealed in which stage such a bad incident happened. She had never informed me of any kind of dissatisfaction. Like any police officer she had told me her wishes but had not mentioned any kind of bad experience from the side of the government. Only if she clarifies the matter, a stand can be taken on this matter,' the chief minister said.
In an interview, she said that it is tough time for female cops. She said that in the first years of her service she found it very tough because of her being a woman.
