KOCHI: The mother of two-and-a-half-year-old girl beaten brutally in Thrikkakara came forward responding on the incident. No one attacked her and had never seen Antony Tijin beating the baby. The child was behaving abnormally for quite some time. She used to jump down from the window. Though she sustained injuries, she never told us. She sustained burns from the incense sticks. All the injuries sustained daily may have seen together. When she had fever, she showed signs of fits, she said.

The child was in a serious condition when taken to the hospital. However, her health condition is improving but she is under 48-hour observation. If she develops breathing problems, she will have to be shifted to the ventilator. Hope to give her liquid food via tube in the evening.

In the meanwhile, Antony Tijin, who was staying with the child’s family, said that he has not gone into hiding. Antony said that he was afraid of the police and that he had been brutally beaten by the Panangad police in an earlier complaint. Antony said that the child fell while playing and was not taken to the hospital because she was not seen crying. Tijin said that as he wants to prove his innocence and so will see the police. He said that he rushed the baby to the hospital after showing symptoms of epilepsy.
