THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5023 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 4646 persons developed the disease through contact, including 320 cases without an identified source of infection. 16 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 41 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

11,077 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 47,354 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 13 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 64,591.
