KPAC Lalitha, in her long acting career, has shared screen space with actor Mammootty several times. She has also acted as Mammootty's heroine in a movie. Lalitha remembers that Mammootty helped her a lot to dub as a 'Marakkathi' in 'Amaram', for which she won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress. In an interview given to Kerala Kaumudi Flash Movies, she spoke about her memories with Mammootty.
"I have acted with Mammootty in many films. He was my hero in Sathyan Anthikkad's 'Kanalkkattu'. Mammootty came to the dubbing studio and taught me the language of a 'Marakkathi' (fisherwoman) in Amaram directed by Bharathettan", she said.
"There is a shot in which I grabs Mammootty's shirt and say that he took my son (character of actor Ashokan) to the sea and killed him. I can not forget the helpless face of Mammootty in that scene. Seeing that expression, I forgot the dialogue for a while. Mammootty is the actor who portrays helplessness most beautifully", she added.
"We feel sadness while seeing some of Mammootty's expressions without even saying a dialogue. He will be having a grumpy face as he begins shooting for a movie. We only see the real Mammootty when that phase is over. I told him about this many times", Lalitha said.
