KANNUR: A veterinarian will now reach home in an ambulance equipped with modern equipment to treat pet animals. The mobile tele veterinary ambulance prepared for this at a cost of over one crore rupees will start functioning in Kannur on Friday.
It is equipped with a portable X-ray machine, laboratory, telemedicine software and a cow lifting machine to lift fallen animals. Ambulance service will be provided as per the instructions of the local veterinarian. Only a call is needed.
Tele veterinary ambulance is a solution which helps to provide proper and timely treatment to pet animals.
The Department of Animal Husbandry has decided to start a tele-veterinary unit in 2021. But the project was delayed because of the inavailabilty of staff. Appointments were made for posts of Doctor, Radiologist, Attendant cum Driver and Technician through Employment Exchange.
