war

MOSCOW: Russia has declared war on Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced military operation in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region. He warned that they were ready for anything and those who interfere will face consequences they have never seen.

Putin has also called on the Ukraine military to lay down its arms. Russia does not approve of Ukraine’s involvement in the expansion of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Russia’s move is aimed at self-defense and for countering threats, he said.

He also warned that there would be severe consequences if foreign powers try to interfere in the war. The airports in the Ukraine borders have been closed. An emergency meeting is being held at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in the wake of the Ukraine crisis. The UN secretary general has asked Putin to end the war.
