KANNUR: It has been proved that the main accused and BJP leader K Lijesh had called a cop of Kannavam station before hacking CPM activist Haridasan of Punnol, to death. The investigating team has obtained hints that the accused spoke to the cop for four minutes in the WhatsApp call. This has turned a crucial evidence in the case.

When the mobile phone of the remanded accused was examined, it was noticed that the cop was called Monday early morning at one am. It was after this the accused called Mani alias Sunesh and told him that Haridas had returned after work and also informed the quotation team. As part of this, the cop was called for interrogation and the mobile phone was taken into custody. A detailed investigation has been started into the incident. Police have sought the help of cyber cell experts to recover the WhatsApp call. The call which came accidentally has become a crucial of evidence in the murder case.
