THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The accused in brutally hacking to death a hotel employee in the capital city has been nabbed. The police nabbed Ajeesh (36) of Ajeesh Bhavan at Kollayi in Nedumangad with the help of CCTV visuals. He murdered Ayyappan of Nagercoil, who was working as a receptionist at Hotel City Tower in Thampanoor. The incident happened Friday morning at 8.30 am.
A fight broke out between Ayyappan and the accused when he came to rent a room. It is believed that the enmity over it led to the murder. He was arrested when he was sitting in a bridge in Nedumangad with the weapon used for the crime. Ajeesh is in the rowdy list of Nedumangad police station. The police are questioning him involved in many cases including for injuring his wife’s lover.
Ajeesh reached City Tower Hotel in Thampanoor carrying deadly weapons. He walked towards Ayyappan who was sitting in the chair at the reception. He then caught hold of Ayyappan’s neck and then hacked him on his neck, head and hands with the machete he carried. It is clear from the CCTV visuals that he came with the intention of killing him. He left after confirming his death on his bike kept outside.
