THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A secret group meeting of the Congress leaders took place at opposition leader VD Satheesan's official residence on Thursday night. However, the meeting got interrupted after KPCC president K Sudhakaran sent a team to pay a surprise visit at the Cantonment House. Sources said that 10 leaders, including VD Satheesan, were present at the Cantonment House when the KPCC team reached there.

The KPCC team reached the Cantonment House at 10 pm. The Congress leaders told them that they came to the opposition leader's residence for an informal meeting. However, the KPCC leadership is planning to lodge a complaint with the Congress leadership alleging that this was a group meeting.

Sources said that a number of Congress leaders came out through various doors of the Cantonment House when the KPCC team reached there.

Several party leaders including Thiruvananthapuram DCC president Palode Ravi, VS Sivakumar, KS Sabarinathan, Neyyattinkara Sanal, Varkala Kahar, MA Wahid, KPCC general secretary KP Sreekumar and Eugene Thomas attended the meeting.

VD Satheesan was not present in the Assembly yesterday for political discussions.
