KABUL: The Taliban has issued a statement asking both Russia and Ukraine to desist from taking positions that could intensify violence. Calling for restraint by both countries, the Taliban stated that the conflict should be solved through dialogue.

The Taliban government in Afghanistan also said that more civilians could be killed if the conflict continues. The Taliban, which stated that it was closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine, urged both Russia and Ukraine to safeguard the lives of Afghan students and immigrants in Ukraine.
