KAYAMKULAM: After expressing regret over her controversial Facebook post, U Prathibha MLA announced that she will be staying away from social media for some time. Prathibha expressed regret after the CPM district leadership sought an explanation regarding the controversial post against the Kayamkulam area committee and party leaders. Later, she deactivated her Facebook page. However, the district leadership has not yet received an official reply from the MLA.

'I wrote the post in a personal state of mind. Even though I am an MLA and a public servant, I am also a housewife living with my son and parents. What raised me was the movement I love. It is the love and support of thousands of activists in this movement that have given me strength and care in times of hardship as well as in joy. I've always cherished this commitment. It will be the same tomorrow.

Accusations and allegations from some people can hurt anyone while undergoing mental stress. Especially as an ordinary woman with personal problems. It was in such a situation that I wrote that Facebook post. I am sad that this note, which stemmed from purely personal grief, caused trouble for others. No matter what the crisis, I will never do anything against my party that I love for life. I've also decided to temporarily stay away from social media,' she wrote on her Facebook page.
