KASARGOD: A class 10 student has been admitted to the hospital after he was attacked by his classmate with a blade. The incident took place at Cherkkala in Kasargod. KM Fazir of Cherkkala Central Govt Higher Secondary School sustained injuries on his neck and shoulder in the attack.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. According to Fazir, his classmate attacked him using a new blade. He was first wounded in the back of the neck. He also sustained a severe injury on the shoulder. Fazir was then rushed to the hospital by the teachers. He was given 9 stitches on his neck and 8 stitches on his hand. Meanwhile, Fazir's uncle said that the school authorities were trying to cover up the issue.

Sources said that the classmate attacked after he was harassed by Fazir. However, school authorities have not received any complaint from the child or his parents in this regard. The school headmaster said that both children were not coming to school now. Vidyanagar SI K Prashant said the report on the blade attack was submitted to the Juvenile Court on the basis of a report from the hospital.
