THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The annual examinations for classes five to nine will be held in March itself. Earlier, it was announced that the examinations will be held in April. With this, students will get two months of summer holidays.

This year's SSLC exams will start on March 31. Since SSLC and Plus Two exams are to be held on alternate days from March 31, it will be not possible to conduct exams for other classes in April. Hence the authorities decided to conduct the exams in March.

Minister V Sivankutty had said that the examinations would be held by April 10. Authorities have sought recommendations of the SCERT on how to conduct assessments in classes five to nine.
