NEW DELHI: India has expedited rescue mission from Ukraine. Priority is given to those in the eastern region. Rescue mission across the Russian border will be delayed. One flight each will be sent to Hungary and Romania.
The Indian Embassy in Poland has arranged buses to reach the border. Ten buses were set up from the Shai region of Ukraine. Seven more aircraft will be part of Operation Ganga in three days. Indigo aircraft will also be part of the mission. A high level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on it.
Meanwhile, Fasna, an MBBS student who returned to Kannur from Ukraine, said that many Malayalee students are trapped in eastern Ukraine. The girl said they are living with no food and water. Minister Sivankutty said the state government is in touch with the central government to fly home all the students from Ukraine.
