NEW DELHI: A study report said a fourth wave of Covid is likely to begin in June. The study report of IIT Kanpur predicting the fourth wave is a cause of concern. The study mentioned that the fourth wave beginning around June 22 will reach its peak on August 23 and starts ending on October 24.
IIT researchers had also predicted the third wave. It happened in the country on a slight difference of days. Meantime, the report has not clearly mentioned on the severity of the disease in the fourth wave, lasting four months.
Health experts had predicted earlier that there would be a new Covid wave by the mid of this year in the country. The severity of the wave will depend on the emergence of new variants, vaccination status, and administration of booster doses. However, experts said they are not sure whether the virus will be less severe like Omicron.
