THRISSUR: The university has taken action against the teacher of School of Drama following a complaint. Calicut University vice chancellor suspended the teacher Dr Sunil Kumar (46). The university took action against him following strong protests by the students.

Raja Warrier who reached the college as visiting faculty, sexually abused the girl. He abused the girl and even slapped her once. The students had complained to the departmental head and also to the senior teachers. However, no action was taken. In the meanwhile, another teacher Sunil Kumar came forward supporting the girl. The man, who spoke softly at first, called the girl in a drunken stage and spoke to her during night time.

The teacher told her that he was in love with her and tried to molest the girl forcibly. Unable to bear the stress, the girl tried to commit suicide on February 13. With this the students decided to strike till strong action is taken against him.
