THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state conference of the CPM will begin tomorrow in Kochi. VS Achuthanandan, former Chief Minister and one of the founding leaders of the CPM, will not be attending the state conference due to ill health. His son VA Arunkumar wrote on Facebook that this was the first time that his father won't be attending a CPM conference.
'My father will not be attending this year's CPM conference. This is the first time that he is not attending a party conference. He can't travel as he is yet to fully recover from the complications caused by Covid,' Arunkumar wrote. He also wrote that Achuthanandan was also facing difficulties caused by stroke.
This is the first time that Achuthanandan, the only surviving founding leader of the CPM, will not be attending the state conference. Achuthanandan was the most notable leader in previous conferences.
