KOCHI: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Tuesday said that the party has decided to start the works for the Lok Sabha elections. He said that the factionalism in the CPM came to an end with the ongoing state conference. Kodiyeri also said that the CPM decided to make maximum use of the differences within the UDF.
According to Kodiyeri, the issues in Alappuzha, Kuttyadi and Ponnani were only regional issues. Responding to the letter sent by senior leader G Sudhakaran pleading to drop him from the state committee, Kodiyeri said that Sudhakaran can inform about anything to the party.
Kodiyeri, who lashed out at the Jamaat-e-Islami, alleged that they were working towards communal polarization in the state. "Jamaat-e-Islami is trying to create unrest in the society. There is no change in the CPM's approach towards the Muslim League. Front expansion is not on the agenda for the time being. CPM will intervene if INL's stance tarnishes the image of the LDF," Kodiyeri said.
