WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden has condemned the Ukraine war. He expressed solidarity with Ukraine and said that the US will continue its financial assistance. Biden has sharply criticised Russia in his state of the union address.

Vladimir Putin will pay a high price for his Russian invasion, warned Biden. This war was premeditated and unprovoked. The US will not engage in fighting Russian armies in Ukraine, but will defend every single inch of NATO allies, he said.

Biden announced that the US will join its allies in closing off American airspace to all Russian flights, further isolating Russia and adding additional squeeze on their economy. “We countered Russia's lies with the truth, and now, that Putin's acted, the free world is holding him accountable. He is now isolated from the world more than he has ever been,” Biden said.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskky had spoken with his US counterpart on Tuesday, and said that ‘’we must stop the aggressor as soon as possible. Biden has assured Zelenskyy that the US will provide all the necessary assistance.
