KYIV: The Indian Embassy in Ukraine has directed all Indians stranded in Kharkiv to leave the city under all circumstances by 6 pm Ukranian time on Wednesday.

The advisory issued by the Ministry of External Affairs read, “This is an urgent advisory to all Indian nationals in Kharkiv. For their own safety and security they must leave Kharkiv immediately repeat immediately in the light of the deteriorating situation. They should proceed to Pesochin, Babaye and Bezlyudovka as soon as possible for their safety. Under all circumstances they must reach these settlements by 1800 hrs (6 pm) Ukranian time, today (Wednesday)”.

URGENT ADVISORY TO ALL INDIAN NATIONALS IN KHARKIV.
FOR THEIR SAFETY AND SECURITY THEY MUST LEAVE KHARKIV IMMEDIATELY.
PROCEED TO PESOCHIN, BABAYE AND BEZLYUDOVKA AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES THEY MUST REACH THESE SETTLEMENTS *BY 1800 HRS (UKRAINIAN TIME) TODAY*.

The Indian embassy issued the advisory on Twitter based on indications that Russian forces were planning a major offensive in Kharkiv.

Nearly 4,000 Indians are stranded in the cities of Kharkiv and Sumy. The central government is examining the possibility of a rescue mission through Russia to repatriate them to India.
