VASCO: Kerala Blasters FC has inched closer to the semifinals of the Indian Super League by beating Mumbai City FC 3-1 win in the league match here on Wednesday.
Alvaro Vazquez (45th P, 60th) scored two goals after Sahal Abdul Samad scored the first goal for the Blasters in the 19th minute. With this win, Blasters are in the fourth spot with 33 points from 19 games.
They will face FC Goa in their last league match. Meanwhile, Mumbai will have to defeat Hyderabad FC in their last league match to keep their semi hopes alive. Mumbai has 31 points from 19 matches, and are in the fifth spot in the points table.
It was Diego Mauricio who scored a consolation goal for Mumbai City FC.
