MOHALI: Though Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara are integral part of Indian cricket, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has said that sometimes tough decisions have to be made. Both have been ruled out of the first Test between India and Sri Lanka starting on Friday. But Rohit did not specify which players will replace these two.

Rohit said it was not easy to replace Pujara and Rahane and to be honest, he was not sure about ​​who would play in their respective positions. Rohit said that Shubhman Gill, Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer could play in tomorrow's match and now it is difficult for him to give a clear answer.

But Rohit did not agree with the claim that the national team was rejecting both of them. He said that Rahane and Pujara, who have played 89-90 Tests so far, have made invaluable contributions to Indian cricket and have earned their place in Indian cricket after many years of hard work.

However, Rohit said that team management sometimes has to take tough decisions as part of giving opportunities to young players as well.
