People has various kinds of complaints, which includes both simple and complicted ones. If a high-ranking official listens to it, the complainant will be almost relieved. The biggest example of this is'Janasambarka paripadi' or Mass conduct program conducted by Oommen Chandy during his tenure as the Chief Minister. Oommen Chandy would patiently listen to all kinds of problems, which itself is a relief to the complainant. Some officilas fail to listen to the grievances of public.

The general opinion is that to get something done in government offices, one mustpay bribe They make such decisions based on past experience. But this is not entirely correct. There are still many officers in the government service who patiently listen to complaints and resolve issues. The Minister said that people's committees will be formed at the village offices to deal with such complaints. Minister K Rajan made this announcement while inaugurating the renovated conference hall at the Thiruvananthapuram Collectorate . The minister also said that a people's committee comprising people's representatives, officials and public servants would meet on the third Friday of every month at 3 pm to evaluate the activities at the village level. In addition, another decision was taken based on a letter published by us, every Friday from 10 am to 12 noon, the public will have the opportunity to lodge complaints with the Thiruvananthapuram District Collector. The zeal shown by the Minister to take the appropriate decision immediately is absolutely commendable. It would be beneficial if this system works in all districts.

Not all complainants require Collector's appointment. Therefore, if a desk is set up for this, half of the complaints can be settled. Although there are many systems like this, it must be properly implemented.
