THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan, who reached Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur, will hold discussions with KPCC president K Sudhakaran today to resolve the crisis in Congress related to reorganization. The discussion will be held after the UDF-led Satyagraha agitation in front of the Secretariat in the morning.
Sudhakaran is adamant that personal merit should be the criterion for reorganization. He also says he will not allow the formation of a new group in the organization at his expense. However, the complexity of the problems may lead to resentment of the high command. That is why the Satheesan is taking the initiative to resolve the issue amicably.
Adoor Prakash MP, AP Anilkumar and VS Sivakumar had spoken to Sudhakaran yesterday. Chennithala's statement that the KPCC president will have the last word of the party in the state would support Sudhakaran's position. Sudhakaran is worried that a new group is forming in the VD Satheesan-KC Venugopal alliance. However, Satheesan on Thursday reiterated there will be no more group in the party. K Muraleedharan expressed the view that Sudhakaran was disturbed by the unexpected ban imposed by the High Command on new organizational activities. Muraleedharan's stance in recent days is in support of Sudhakaran's position.
Opposition Leader VD Satheesan said that the news related to the DCC reorganization circulating on media was baseless. He told the media that no more groups will be formed in Congress. "No group will be formed in Congress in the name of the opposition leader. If I a situation arises where I have to become part of a group, I will no longer hold any positions associated with the party. Some have raised complaints about the reorganization. We have held talks with everyone to resolve the issue. The final decision will be taken by the KPCC president and opposition leader. The discussions will be completed within two days and the office bearers will be announced with the approval of the national leadership," Satheesan said.
