KANNUR: Some losing grip in the congress party are trying to create a rift between me and KPCC chief K Sudhakaran, said opposition leader V D Satheesan. They don’t have any work now and are deliberately doing it, he said while talking to a channel.
‘They are propagating that I am forming a group. They are not loyal to the party. They are just thinking of their power which they have lost. They should understand the change of leadership in the same way. It will have to be dealt with if they cross their limits. It is good that Muraleedharan and Chennithala have discussed everything. There is nothing wrong on MPs sending letters expressing dissatisfaction with the reshuffle. The list will be released in two days after resolving the issues,’ Satheesan said.
Party sources indicate that there are differences of opinion between the opposition leader and the KPCC chief. There were reports that the Congress group had met at the opposition leader's official residence last week and knowing that the KPCC chief had sent an emissary for a lightning inspection and disrupted the meeting. However, the leaders came forward saying that such an incident had not happened.
Satheesan's present move is to reach a compromise with Sudhakaran and announce the DCC list. The attempt started in anticipation of the danger of prolonging the list. The high command asked to stop the reshuffle showing the MPs' complaints. However, K Sudhakaran is annoyed with the action of the high command.
In protest, Sudhakaran had informed his dissatisfaction to the AICC leadership. Sudhakaran is worried about the new faction formed with the association of V D Satheesan and K C Venugopal.
Meantime, the old ‘I’ group leaders are getting closer to Sudhakaran in the move against Satheesan and Venugopal. K Muraleedharan getting closer to Chennithala, and the latter responding that KPCC president is the last word of the party in the state is reviewed as its hint. Muraleedharan's stance is in support of the stand of Sudhakaran.
In a situation where Chennithala and Muraleedharan agree with Sudhakaran's stand, it is heard that the camp affiliated with K C Venugopal is trying to get the support of Oommen Chandy. Sudhakaran's stand is that no one’s power can be accepted and that there is no going back on the reorganization.
