THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking a jibe at CPM's announcement of its new state committee, KPCC president K Sudhakaran said that the hollowness in the CPM's policy and approach towards women had become evident.
"The CPM state committee was expanded by including those who faced disciplinary action on allegations of sexual harassment. The move comes amid mounting criticism at the CPM state conference that some male comrades were misbehaving women comrades," Sudhakaran mentioned in the press statement.
"Women leaders, including Higher Education Minister R Bindu, have alleged that women were not getting justice in the CPM. The minister pointed out that some male comrades had been misbehaving with women comrades and that the party did not consider any complaint against such incidents. The presence of people like P Sasi in the CPM state committee proves that the party leadership is not considering these complaints seriously," Sudhakaran added.
"Police have been protecting CPM members, who were named accused in several sexual harassment cases. The anti-woman attitude of the party is also reflected in the functioning of the government," he added
