SYDNEY: Australian cricket great Shane Warne passed away without fulfilling one of his desires. Recently in an interview, the former Aussie spinner said he like to coach England and would have been able to do a good job. Following a 4-0 debacle in the Ashes series, England and Wales Cricket Board had sacked its coach Chris Silverwood.
Warne's said this on the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast which was released on February 22.
"I’d like to do it, it’s a great time to be England coach," Warne said.
"I think I’d do a pretty good job, there’s a lot to work with. There are so many good players in England and a lot of depth, but you’ve got to get some of the basics right.
"You can’t bowl no-balls and drop so many catches, but you’ve got the players, they’re just not performing."
