KABUL: The Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing at a mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar. 57 people were killed and more than 200 were injured in the blast. Out of which, 10 are in critical conditions.

The explosion took place at the Kocha Risaldar mosque area on Friday, while the worshippers were performing prayers. The death toll is likely to increase. Two suicide bombers had entered the mosque and blew themselves up. The Jamia mosque, where the explosion took place, is situated in the Afghanistan border.

The assaulters had opened fire at the police personnel, who were deployed outside the entrance, while trying enter into the mosque. A policemen was killed in the firing. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the incident. Recently, the attacks against Shia Muslims are on the rise in Pakistan.
