KOCHI: The police have registered a case against tattoo artist P S Sujeesh, the accused in the sexual abuse case in Kochi. He has been charged with rape, insulting womanhood among five others. The police have received clear hints about the accused who has been absconding. He will be arrested soon, said the Kochi police commissioner.
So far, six women have lodged complaints against the accused. The police have received information that several others have had similar experiences. The cases have been registered based on the incidents that happened from 2017 onwards. Four cases have been registered in Palarivattom and two in Cheranalloor police station.
A Malayalee woman residing in Bengaluru was the last person who had lodged complaint against Sujeesh. The woman had sent her complaint to the Kochi city police commissioner via email. A social media post by a girl, sharing her sexual assault experience at the tattoo studio, is what prompted other women who had similar experiences, to open up. The girl had alleged the accused of molesting and misbehaving with her at the tattoo parlour.
