KANNUR: Former CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan has responded to the controversies that erupted following the 23rd CPM state conference. Jayarajan responded that it is not the position but the stance that matters. Jayarajan came up with the response after the leadership decided not to include him in the CPM state secretariat became a controversy. He was speaking at the Pamban Madhavan Memorial conference.
"As a public worker, it is not the position but the stance that gets recognition. The CPM is a party with inner-party democracy. Every party worker raises criticism and self-criticism at CPM party conferences. The CPM is the only party that allows workers to criticize and self-criticize. State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had earlier informed the media about the decision. However, the media is sneaking around to find whether I was excluded or not," Jayarajan said. Taking a jibe at Congress, Jayarajan said that all decisions in Congress were being taken by a mother and two children.
Following the CPM state conference, there was a huge outcry on social media against the non-inclusion of P Jayarajan in the state secretariat.
