KOLLAM: Doctors' organizations have responded to KB Ganesh Kumar MLA, who criticized the doctors and staff of the Thalavoor Ayurveda Hospital. The MLA had recently criticized the hospital staff after seeing the hospital in an untidy manner.

The doctors' organizations criticized that there was no point in constructing the building and purchasing equipment if there are not enough staff to maintain the hospital. "There are not enough staff in the hospital. There was only one sweeper in the hospital. However, this post became vacant since that sweeper retired at the age of seventy. No steps were taken to appoint a new employee to the post. The MLA must understand this," representatives of the organizations said.

"How can we operate the new physiotherapy machine without staff? Is Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ambilikumari to blame for the poor quality of tiles used in the toilets? While the government is providing much-needed assistance in the field of allopathic medicine, it is not doing so for Ayurveda. Despite approaching higher authorities to provide adequate facilities and fill the vacancies, no action was taken," doctors said.
