KOZHIKODE: A teacher was sexually assaulted in a KSRTC bus. A teacher of Kozhikode is the victim. She said a co-passenger caught hold of her. The incident happened last night. She revealed the incident via Facebook live.
The teacher was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode. The incident happened between Ernakulam and Thrissur. The woman said that even after she responded to the incident, the conductor did not come to her aid. His talk pained her and his behaviour inflicted more injuries than the assault. She has decided to lodge a complaint against the conductor.
Her words
‘I shouted and asked what he was showing. He was mum. He was sitting in the back seat. I was scared and when asked how can I sit here, he got up from there and sat back. Two college students were sitting next. The conductor was sitting in front of me. Despite seeing all this, he did not utter a single word.
I went straight to the conductor and asked him why he was so silent. He immediately said that he apologised to you and then asked what should I do. He blamed me a lot. I told him to go to the police station. He then blamed her saying wasting everybody’s time,’ the teacher said.
Transport Minister seeks report
Transport Minister Antony Raju said that a detailed report has been demanded from the MD of KSRTC. The minister said the conductor had not fulfilled his responsibility and is taking the issue seriously.
