THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Mayor Arya Rajendran got engaged to Balusseri MLA Sachin Dev. The two got engaged at the CPM headquarters AKG Centre. The function was held in the presence of close relatives and senior leaders.

22-year-old Arya is youngest mayor in the country and Sachin is the youngest MLA in the state. Their friendship during activities of Balasanghom and SFI ended in the marriage. The two had earlier announced their marriage in February. The wedding date will be announced later.

Sachin Dev is a native of Nellikode in Kozhikode. He is state secretary and all India joint secretary of the SFI. He won the recent elections from Balussery constituency while serving as SFI state secretary. He is also a member of the CPM Kozhikode district committee. Kozhikode Govt. He was the former chairman of the College of Arts and Sciences.

He is a law graduate. Arya became the mayor at the age of 21 while studying in All Science College, Thiruvananthapuram. She is a member of the SFI State Committee and a member of CPM Chala Area Committee. She is the daughter of Rajendran, an electrician, and Sreelatha, an LIC agent.
