THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is learned that Praveen, the accused in the murder case of a woman in a hotel room in Thampanoor, had come with the intention to kill Gayathri. He convinced her that they could die together. After this, he killed her by strangulating her with a shawl. Praveen will be taken into custody today for further questioning.

Praveen, already married and having two children, tried to continue his relationship with Gayathri secretly. However, when Gayathri objected this, he informed her to divorce his wife. He was not willing to marry her. Gayathri’s mother had warned him from seeing her daughter, but he did not pay heed to it.

To make her belief, he tied the knot with Gayathri in 2021 at a church in the capital city. Gayathri had shared the pictures of it in the social media. Both got close while working together in a jewellery shop in the city. In the meanwhile, Praveen was transferred to Tamil Nadu. Gayathri wanted to go with him to Tamil Nadu. He called her to the hotel room in Thampanoor to make her understand the things. A verbal dispute broke out between the two and in a fit of rage he strangulated her using a shawl. He then left the room taking her phone and then at night called the hotel reception from that phone to inform about the death.
