nimisha-priya

SANAA: The Yemen Appeal Court upheld the death sentence of Nimisha Priya, a nurse and a native of Kollengode in Palakkad, in the case of murdering a Yemeni. The court rejected her plea. The incident happened on July 25 in 2017. Nimisha Priya, her friend Hanan, a Yemeni nurse and another youth murdered Talal Abdu Mehdi of Yemen.

A three-member bench rejected her plea. Talal who offered help to Nimisha, working as a nurse, to start a clinic on her own later cheated her financially. He fabricated documents of marrying Nimisha. He also seized her passport. She was subjected to brutal harassment. In retaliation, she murdered him by injecting overdose of anaesthesia.

She later chopped his body into pieces and hid the body in a water tank. Her husband and her seven-year-old daughter expected the court to reduce her sentence. Now all their expectations are on the supreme judicial council. This a panel consisting of Yemen president.
