THODUPUZHA: The 14th commemoration of Idukki Press Club journalist K P Gopinath and award ceremony will be held on March 11 at the Press Club Hall, said the officials, at a press conference. Kerala Kaumudi Kochi unit chief photographer N R Sudharmadas has bagged the K P Gopinath memorial award in the news photograph category. Senior journalist and Asianet news consulting editor M G Radhakrishnan will present the award at the meeting to be held on March 11, at 12 noon. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 10001, a plaque and a citation. Senior journalist Jacob George will deliver the commemoration address. Press Club President M N Suresh will preside over the meeting. Secretary Vinod Kannoli will deliver the welcome speech and vice president James Vattappillil will convey the vote of thanks. The winner was selected by a committee comprising of senior photographers P Musthafa, V S Shine and Shaju John. Press Club President M N Suresh, Secretary Vinod Kannoli, Vice Presidents M Bileena, James Vattappillil took part in the press conference.

Sudharmadas is the recipient of several awards such as the Kerala Journalists’ Union State Victor George award, N V Prabhu Memorial Media award, National Child Development Council Media award, Women’s Commission state media award, C K Jayakrishnan news photography award, state environment award, Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma award, Alappuzha Beach Fest Tourism photography award (2011, 2012), Editor Memorial media award, Public Relations Council of India media award (2014, 2015), state school festival award, Kudumbashree state photography award (2018, 2019), Photo Wide News photography award, Gandhi Bhavan news photography award among others.

Sudharmadas is the son of Raveendran and Radha of Panavalli Neelamkulangara, Cherthala. He is married to Sandhya (Service Cooperative Bank, Poochakkal) and has a daughter Niveditha (third grade student of Rajagiri School).
