THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is suspected that the incident in which a woman was killed in a hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram was pre-planned. It was Praveen who attended Gayathri's phone when her relative called before she was killed. He then told the relative that he was Gayathri's husband. Gayathri's relative called her at around 7 pm on the day of her murder. The relative introduced herself as a cousin of Mahitha (Gayathri's nickname). Despite the relative's repeated requests, Praveen refused to hand over the phone to Gayathri.

Praveen revealed that he murdered Gayathri for spreading their photos, including the ones which show them tying a knot at a church. However, the police are not convinced of this explanation. An investigation is underway into whether there was any other motive behind the murder.
