KOCHI: The Kerala High Court rejected actor Dileep’s plea seeking to quash further probe in the actress attack case. A bench led by Justice Kauser Edappagath rejected the plea. The court asked the investigating officials to go on with further probe and directed to submit the investigation report by April 15.
As the trial of the case reached its final stage, the special investigation team had conducted further investigation based on the revelations of director Balachandra Kumar. In the wake of this revelation, the police mainly probed whether the footages of the actress being attacked reached the hands of Dileep. The actor moved the court questioning this.
The court directed the crime branch to continue their investigation while considering the plea and ordered to submit the investigation report by April 15. The court rejected Dileep's plea accepting prosecution's argument that there is no rule that a further probe is not required as the trial was in its final stages. The court asked Dileep's lawyers what is wrong in continuing the investigation and let truth be proved. The court also said that they are not opining on Balachandra Kumar's credibility at this stage.
