NEW DELHI: The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in five states will take place tomorrow. Exit polls have predicted that the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government will remain in power in Uttar Pradesh. The majority of exit polls have also predicted that the Aam Aadmi Party will overthrow the Congress and come to power in Punjab. However, Hyderabad- based survey agency Atma Sakshi has now come up with a different prediction.
According to the survey conducted by Atma Sakshi, the Samajwadi Party will come to power in Uttar Pradesh. The agency also predicted that the Samajwadi Party will overthrow BJP by winning 235 to 240 seats in the state. The BJP's seats will be reduced from 312 to 138 to 140. The BSP is expected to get 19 to 23 seats, the Congress 12 to 16 seats and the others 1 to 2 seats. The Atma Sakshi group stated that the survey results were based on samples obtained from the field survey. The group said it had collected 316,000 samples.
The group also predicted that Congress will win in three states- Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa.
