NEW DELHI: The counting of votes for the assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa have stated. The counting started at 8 am. Postal votes were counted first. As per the lead in UP, BJP is leading in the state.

The exit polls had predicted the win of BJP in UP, Uttarakhand and Manipur. The Congress and the BJP are neck to neck in Goa. The win of AAP was predicted in Punjab.

The elections were held for 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 117 seats in Punjab, 70 seats in Uttarakhand, 60 seats in Manipur and 40 seats in Goa.
