AMRITSAR: The Congress has collapsed in Punjab. This is the situation of the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal in the race before the AAP. Incumbent Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is trailing in the two seats he contested. Former Punjab Chief Minister and BJP candidate Amarinder Singh suffered a humiliating defeat in Patiala. He was relegated to fourth position in Patiala when the counting of votes ended. AAP's Ajit Pal Singh won here.

Punjab PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu, who contested from Amritsar East, also lost. Sidhu was pushed to third place here. Jeevan Jyot Kaur of AAP won here.

Former Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, who contested in Lambi, lost in Jalalabad. Congress leader and minister Gurkeerat Singh is also far behind.

The congress ruling in Punjab having 117 seats has reduced its lead to 13. A total of 1304 candidates contested in Punjab. This includes 93 women and two transgenders. AAP's chief ministerial candidate is Bhagwant Singh Mann. AAP is leading in 90 seats.
