Yogi drew a pic on drawing board after summoning ministers in 2017, that image brought saffron-clad man to power for a second time LUCKNOW: In area, Uttar Pradesh is twice the size of the European country England. What about population? Only five countries in the world have overtaken UP in that regard. Utilizing his two decades of practical experience as a member of the legislative assembly, Yogi Adityanath has undoubtedly brought Uttar Pradesh to the world standard in terms of infrastructure. This is the reason for the people of UP electing Yogi as their chief minister for a second time.
Yogi was in front of a drawing board with his ministers for the first two weeks of his tenure as the chief minister in 2017. Yogi was depicting the journey up to that point in Uttar Pradesh, the frame of India's cultural heritage. What has changed in UP from 2017 to the present is the realization of what Yogi saw on that canvas back then.
During the rule, the BSP built the 165 km (Greater Noida-Agra) Expressway. The Samajwadi Party, on the other hand, built the 302 km expressway from Agra to Lucknow. Thus under their 15-year rule, Uttar Pradesh got 467 km of expressway. Road development in western UP was still a daydream.
Yogi Adityanath changed UP from that state to another level. The Purvanchal Expressway inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2021, was 341 kms long. The Purvanchal Expressway connected nine districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh which were deliberately or unintentionally neglected by the previous rulers. In addition, the 300 km long Bandalkhand Expressway connecting the seven districts is set to open to traffic by the end of March. Thus, during his reign, the expressway was built over a distance of 641 km.
Yogi Adityanath's road effort did not end there. The construction of the 600 km Ganga Expressway and the 91 km Gorakhpur Link Expressway were all world class. The Ganga Expressway is a massive project connecting 12 districts in the west and east. Yogi plans to complete it by 2025. The Ganga Expressway is one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream projects.
Yogi’s development did not end there. In 2017, Uttar Pradesh had four airports. They were Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Agra. However, Yogi Adityanath was able to raise the number of airports to eight by 2021. More services started from UP. Uttar Pradesh will soon become the first state in the country to have five international airports.
From the day he came to power, Yogi opened his door to businessmen. The first thing he did was to provide them with uninterrupted power supply. He launched a project called 'Power for All'. Yogi soon brought another power yajna called 'Paryapath Bijli'. It was one of the most important events in the history of Uttar Pradesh. The objective of the scheme was to provide uninterrupted power supply 24 hours a day in district centres, 20 hours in taluks and 18 hours in panchayats. All this was a new experience for the people of UP, especially in rural areas.
Uttar Pradesh is one of the most industrial friendly states in the world today. It is a great achievement that Yogi has been able to reduce the unemployment rate in the state from 17.5 per cent in 2017 to 4.1 per cent in 2021. All these turn as votes…
