THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: We saw the Congress party suffering major setbacks with the emergence of the election results in five states. Opposition leader VD Satheesan said that the result was disappointing for the Congress workers. Failure and success are natural. Satheesan said that the party would find out the reasons for the debacle and devise strategies to overcome it.

"My personal assessment is that even in Kerala, the reason for our failure was the lack of preparation ahead of the elections. The ruling BJP is doing it more beautifully and precisely than any other political party in India. The BJP is spending too much money on preparations. They make all the arrangements. The BJP focuses on elections and not on governance. We can see major BJP leaders heading to a state for campaigning soon after an election is announced in that state," Satheesan said.
