THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A policeman was stabbed while arresting an accused in a drug case in Kallambalam and later he underwent an emergency surgery. His colleagues were shocked when they enquired about the hospital bill after the surgery. The hospital authorities informed the police that the doctor's fee was waived from the officer's bill.

Jyotish R K, a colleague of the injured police officer, posted this information on his Facebook page.

According to Jyotish, Dr Madan Mohan, the surgeon who did the operation informed the hospital authorities that he did not want fees for treating an injured police officer as he did his duty for security of the society. Jyotish thanked the doctor for his generosity and goodness of heart. He also wrote that they will never forget this kind gesture.
