THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Veena George said that the online portal of the Women and Child Development Department has been set up to register dowry complaints. Chief Minister launched the portal on Women's Day.

A complaint can be filed in case of a dowry payment. Affected women, parents, relatives and reputable organizations can also file a complaint. The information received will be kept confidential. Complainants will be contacted by Dowry Prohibition Officer representative within three working days of receiving the application.

Complaints will be forwarded to the District Dowry Prohibition Officers. An inquiry will be held and a notice will be issued. Police and legal assistance will be provided if required. Phone: 0471 2346838.

How to file a complaint

First click on the Submit Complaint link at http://wcd.kerala.gov.in/dowry. Enter the OTP received by entering the mobile number on the page
Basic details should be entered.
Provide the name and e-mail of the informant
Details of the affected woman, location, address, nature of the complaint, asked dowry, contact number and e-mail should be provided.

Clarify whether the complaint was filed elsewhere
Documents can be uploaded and submitted after entering the security code.

You will receive an SMS notification upon completion of the registration. There will be an SMS update at each stage.
