PALAKKAD: The post mortem of Yuva Morcha Tharoor Panchayat Secretary Arun Kumar, who was stabbed to death, will be held on Saturday. The dead body will be taken home by around noon. Union Minister V Muraleedharan is likely to visit his house. So far, six people have been arrested in the case.

Arun’s relatives and neighbours namely Krishnadas, Jayesh, Santhosh, Manikandan, Ramesh, Midhun and Nidhin are the accused in the case. Among them, Nidhin is yet to be caught. He will be arrested soon, said the police.

Arun Kumar was stabbed during a dispute, on March 2, amid the Pazhampalakode community temple festival. He succumbed to his injuries by around Friday noon, while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Nenmara. The BJP had alleged that CPM, DYFI activists are behind the incident. Midhun is a DYFI activist. On Saturday, a hartal has been declared in the Alathur taluk and the panchayats of Kottayi and Peringottukurussi.
